Working in an atmosphere of complexity
Jerry Intlekofer, R.N.
I wanted to work someplace that had the excitement
of a variety of health care issues. Also, I liked the excellence that
is associated with UI
Hospitals and Clinics. It is nationally known and was one of the things
that attracted me initially.
I’m a staff nurse in otolaryngology
and I work in the Clinical Cancer Center. We also do plastic surgery
and oral surgery.
I love coming to work. I like the people that I work
with, and that’s
a very big plus. The nursing staff, particularly the nurse management
in my area, is really strong. I also enjoy working with the doctors--they’re
a lot of educated people with innovative ideas.
My patients are acutely
ill when they come to us and it requires a lot of special expertise.
I like the idea that I can provide that kind of
expertise. It’s different here than a private hospital, it’s
more of a team effort and we always get good results in our area through
this approach. More Employee Stories
