Patients and families are the foundation of our missions to provide care, conduct research, and train future health care professionals. By participating on one of our advisory councils, patients and families regularly share their experiences and impressions with hospital administrators.

We have an Adult Patient Advisory Council and several University of Iowa Children’s Hospital advisory councils: Youth Advisory Council, Family Advisory Council, and Family Faculty.These groups help guide how we do things—from inspiring new programs to helping us design new clinic and inpatient spaces.
