Parking and Transportation Services


Every University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics patient and visitor is a VIP (Very Important Person). That's why we offer a broad range of services and programs designed with you in mind.

Parking
Patient and visitor parking is available in Hospital Parking Ramps 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Valet parking
Valet parking is available at:

  • UI Hospitals and Clinics Main Entrance: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Pomerantz Family Pavilion: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday

The cost of valet parking is $10. Cash payment for Main Entrance valet parking is handled at the Main Lobby Information Desk. Cash payment for Pomerantz valet parking is made at the Pomerantz Information Desk.

Inpatient

Long-term parking
If you are will be at the hospital for several days, you may want to purchase a reduced-rate, seven-day parking permit at the Information Desk in the Main Lobby, at the Pomerantz Information Desk, Level One, or in the Parking and Transportation Office in Hospital Ramp 2. Call 319-335-8924. The 2008-09 rate is $42 for the seven-day permit.

Transportation

Cambus
Cambus, the university's campus bus system, offers free bus service between Ul Hospitals and Clinics and all other areas of campus, including downtown. Buses leave the Hospitals and Clinics area at two terminals, located on the north and south ends of the building.

Patient escort or wheelchair assistance
Wheelchairs are available at the Main Entrance. Our Guest Services staff will be happy to assist you as you enter Ul Hospitals and Clinics. Call 102 on any in-house phone to request patient escort or wheelchair assistance from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. After 5 p.m. and on weekends, dial 101 on any in-house phone to request assistance.

PATmobile
The PATmobile (Personal Assisted Transportation vehicle) serves patients and visitors who may not need a wheelchair escort, but would benefit from motorized transportation within Ul Hospitals and Clinics.

This service is available on weekdays. The PATmobile runs on the Second Level; you can request service at the Main Entrance Information Desk, or by calling 102 from any beige in-house phone.
