Parking and Transportation Services

Parking
Patient and visitor parking is available in Hospital Parking Ramps 1, 2, 3, and 4. In addition, valet parking is available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays at the Main Entrance and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Eye Institute entrance of the Pomerantz Family Pavilion (the entrance closest to the John Pappajohn Pavilion). The cost of valet parking is $10, which includes the parking ramp charge.

If you are going to be at the hospital for several days, you may want to purchase a reduced-rate, seven-day parking permit at the Information Desk in the Main Lobby or Parking Office in Ramp 2. The cost of the seven-day permit is $38.

If you are visiting a clinic as an outpatient, during check-in you'll receive a free parking pass for your clinic visit. Valet parking is $8 for those with an outpatient clinic appointment.

Cambus
Cambus, the university's campus bus system, offers free bus service between UI Hospitals and Clinics and all other areas of campus, including downtown. Buses leave the Hospitals and Clinics area at two terminals, located on the north and south ends of the building.

Patient Escort or Wheelchair Assistance
Wheelchairs are available at the Main Entrance. Our Guest Services staff will be happy to assist you as you enter UI Hospitals and Clinics. Call 102 on any in-house phone to request patient escort or wheelchair assistance from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. After 5 p.m. and on weekends, dial 101 on any in-house phone to request assistance.

PATmobile
The PATmobile (Personal Assisted Transportation vehicle) serves patients and visitors who may not need a wheelchair escort, but would benefit from motorized transportation within UI Hospitals and Clinics.

This service is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The PATmobile runs on the Second Level; you can request service at the First Level Information Desk, or by calling 102 from any in-house phone.
