University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine
is distinguished by the excellence of its educational programs in the
health professions and biomedical sciences, the outstanding quality
of its research, and the provision of innovative and comprehensive
health care and other services.
Some 680 medical students, 180 allied health students, and 150
graduate students are being trained by UI Roy J. and Lucille A.
Carver College of Medicine, which employs 705 faculty, many of them
world-renowned specialists in different areas of medicine and health
care services. Especially highly ranked among the service programs
established by UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine
are the Primary Care Program, the Rural Medicine Program, the
Physician Assistant Graduate Program, and the Audiology Program.
UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine has been
ranked 11th among all public schools of medicine and third among the
Big Ten by U.S. News & World Report magazine.
