Department of Anesthesia

General Information

The Department of Anesthesia provides intraoperative and perioperative anesthesia for surgical patients, critically ill patients, patients needing hyperbaric medicine services, and patients experiencing surgical, chronic, or cancer pain problems.

The department provides its services through the following divisions and units:

• Acute and chronic pain management center
• Ambulatory surgery center
• Anesthesia pre-surgical evaluation facility
• Cardiac anesthesia division
• Clinical anesthesia division
• Hyperbaric medicine unit
• Neurosurgical anesthesia division
• Obstetrical anesthesia division
• Pediatric anesthesia division
• Surgical intensive care division
• Transplant anesthesia division
