Department of Anesthesia: Pediatric Anesthesia
The Division of Pediatric Anesthesia provides anesthesia care in the operating room for approximately 4,500 children each year. Anesthesia care is also provided in many satellite clinics throughout the hospital, including pediatric radiology, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, radiation therapy, pediatric hematology oncology, dermatology and orthopaedics, cardiac catheterization, and the general pediatric outpatient clinic.
The spectrum of pathology encountered in our pediatric patients is weighted toward complex medical and surgical disease. However, there is also a busy surgical schedule for children having less complicated, elective surgery, including not only general pediatric surgery but all of the pediatric surgical subspecialties as well.
