Adult Foot and Ankle
The Adult Foot and Ankle Service provides care and treatment for
patients with arthritis, fractures, infections, diabetic foot ulcers,
and other problems affecting the foot. The special expertise of the
faculty includes reconstruction of foot deformities including bunion
deformity, deformities of the mid-foot and hind-foot, complex
fractures of the foot and ankle, and total ankle replacement.

Adult Reconstructive and Joint Replacement Surgery
The departmental hip and knee reconstructive service provides care
for patients with diseases of the hip and knee. The faculty members
have special expertise in the treatment of advanced arthritis and
other complex disorders of the hip and knee.

Children's Orthopaedics
The Children's Orthopaedic Service provides a full range of
services for children with injuries, deformities, and developmental
abnormalities in the musculoskeletal system. The physicians have
extensive long-term experience in treatment of complex disorders such
as clubfoot, scoliosis, and developmental dysplasia of the hip.

Hand and Microsurgery, Extremity Plastic Surgery
The Hand and Microsurgery, Upper Extremity Plastic Surgery Service
provides comprehensive care for patients with injuries, deformities,
and acquired conditions affecting the upper extremity. These include
congenital abnormalities, arthritis, peripheral nerve problems, wrist
disorders, burns, and other injuries and conditions affecting the
hand and upper extremity.

Musculoskeletal Oncology
The Musculoskeletal Oncology Service provides care and treatment
for patients ranging in age from infants to the elderly with primary
benign and malignant tumors of the bones, muscles and other
musculoskeletal tissues. In addition, this service provides care and
treatment for patients with metastatic tumors involving the
musculoskeletal system.

The Trauma Service provides comprehensive care of patients with
all types of injuries to the musculoskeletal system including bones,
joints, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.

Neuromuscular, Rehabilitation and Amputees
The services provides care for patients with a wide variety of
neuromuscular diseases including cerebral palsy, spina bifida,
traumatic injuries to the peripheral nervous system and spinal cord. This service also provides care for patients
with upper and lower extremity amputations.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service provides diagnostic and therapeutic options for those patients with non-surgical musculoskeletal injuries or illnesses. The faculty see patients with chronic musculoskeletal back and neck pain, knee pain, and osteoarthritis and offer both diagnostic testing as well as therapeutic spinal or peripheral joint injections. The faculty also serve as Medical Director for the UIHC Department of Rehabilitation Therapies and our Department's Spine Rehabilitation Program. We provide inpatient physical medicine & rehabilitation services include staffing the Trauma Rehabilitation Consultation service and providing rehabilitation consultations for the Pediatric Neuro-Trauma Rehabilitation Unit at the Center for Disabilities & Development.

with diseases and injuries of the shoulder including disorders of the
rotator cuff and arthritis. Faculty members have special expertise in

Spinal Deformity
The Spine Deformity Service provides operative and non-operative
treatment for patients with deformities of the spine including
scoliosis, kyphosis, and paralytic deformities.

with arthritic, traumatic, infectious, or neoplastic disorders of the
spine extending from the cervical spine to the pelvis.
