Patient and Visitor Information

Patient Services

Patient Representatives

Patient representatives are available to answer your questions, assist you with special requests, and listen to your suggestions and concerns. You can reach a representative by calling 319-356-1802 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours, call the hospital operator at 319-356-1616, and ask to speak with a patient representative.

Social Services

If your health care is complicated by personal, financial, or other concerns, social workers are available to help. You can visit the Social Services Office on the first floor of the hospital near elevator B, or call the office at 319-356-2207.

Ambulatory Care Pharmacy

If you would like to obtain an initial supply of medication before you leave, visit the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy on the first floor of the hospital, across from elevator C. Our prescriptions are written on a duplicate blank, which allows the pharmacy to provide you with an initial supply and return the original prescription to you, so you can obtain refills at a pharmacy near your home.

Special Communications Needs

For non-English speaking or hearing-impaired patients and visitors, interpretation and translation services are available through Social Services. If possible, please call 319-356-1967 at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment to allow us to arrange for this service.

In addition, information about Text Telephones (TTD/TTY) is available by calling 319-356-1616 (the actual TTD/TTY-reserved line is 319-356-4999). Assistive hearing devices are available for use during your visit. Clinic staff will be happy to assist you upon your arrival.
