Rick Dobyns, M.D., M.P.H., and Paul Mulhausen, M.D., UI Hospitals and Clinics physicians and experts on the topic of aging, will present this free, community program in the hospital's East Room.

By the end of this decade, there will be more Americans over 55 than under 18 for the first time in history. Over the past century, our life expectancy has increased 30 years, adding an entirely new stage of life. That means we will spend a full third of our lives "old."

Focusing on photos from the award-winning "Aging in America" exhibit on display at UI Hospitals and Clinics, the doctors will discuss some of the unprecedented opportunities, and the prolonged decline, that have become the dueling signatures of "old age."

With audience interaction, this presentation is geared toward all ages and will include discussion of:

• What it means to age
• The positive aspects of aging
• Dealing with frailty and loss of independence
• Depression, dementia and other health issues
• Communicating with your health care provider
