Cancer Information Service
Celebrates 20 Years of Service


The Cancer Information Service (CIS) of Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at The University of Iowa will hold a special event Wednesday, May 17, to thank the community for 20 years of support.

Participants can enjoy food, fun, door prizes, and interactive displays illustrating how the Cancer Information Services benefits you — whether by answering personal questions about cancer or assisting patients in finding cancer resources. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, in the East Room located on the 8th level of the John Colloton Pavilion at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Activities begin at 10 a.m. and continue to 3 p.m. in the East Room, the 8th level of the John Colloton Pavilion and will include:

  • Testing your knowledge about cancer myths and facts
  • Getting up and exercising with chair aerobics
  • Sampling foods that may help reduce your cancer risk and pick up a recipe book
  • Seeing how different SPFs stop UV rays.
