The eight-week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program helps people learn to use their internal resources to change their relationship to stress or chronic conditions such as pain or illness. Some of the reasons people come to the group include job or family stress, headaches, high blood pressure, anxiety, sleep disturbance, mild or situational depression, cancer, etc. Mindfulness meditation is the core of the program. Evidence indicates that participants often experience a reduction in physical and psychological symptoms, a greater ability to respond skillfully to challenges in their lives and a greater sense of well-being. The Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program will be offered: Tuesdays - May 30 through July 18 Call 319-384-5089 to register for the required informational/ screening session. This session helps prospective participants to learn about the Mindfulness Program as well as to ask questions. If you choose to participate in the program, you will be asked to register and pay the $380 fee at the end of the screening session. Payment can be made with cash, check, or credit card.
