"Clear Channel stations in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City are involved in fund-raising and non-profit events all year long. We've always supported the Dance Marathon and UI Hospitals and Clinics. We are so pleased with the partnership we have with the Children's Miracle Network, allowing us to help out the wonderful cancer programs at University of Iowa Children's Hospital," said JJ Cook, Operations Manager at Clear Channel of Iowa City/Cedar Rapids. "The Clear Channel Call for Kids with Cancer has been one of the most emotional and enlightening events we have been a part of. All the children we've met have touched our lives and we were saddened to see some of them lose their fight with cancer this past year. It is comforting to know they, and their families, receive the best possible care right here in Iowa." Dance Marathon at The University of Iowa began 13 years ago and has raised more than $4 million dollars for pediatric oncology programs at University of Iowa Children's Hospital. The mission of UI Dance Marathon is to provide financial and emotional support through special projects to families served by Children's Hospital with an emphasis on pediatric oncology. The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is the largest Children's Miracle Network dance marathon west of the Mississippi River. The 2006 UI Dance Marathon raised $686,251.12 in donations. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT, Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness programs to benefit children treated at 170 children's hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. The network also includes 75 corporate sponsors, 200 television stations and more than 135 radio stations.
