Community Seminar to Focus on
Advances in Heart Imaging

Advances in heart imaging and its role in treating heart problems will be the focus of a free community seminar on Thursday, February 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 1220 First Avenue, Coralville.

Edwin van Beek, MD, Department of Radiology, and Dinesh Jagasia, MD, UI Heart and Vascular Center, will present "Heart Imaging: New Views of the Heart."

A new 64-slice Computed Tomography (CT) scanner allows University of Iowa physicians to see heart problems and plan treatments with non-invasive tests.

In this free seminar, learn how:

  • UI Heart and Vascular Center physicians use the scanner to see blockages of the heart.
  • The scan can spot heart problems that are not noticed in other tests.
  • Treatment planning improves with this scan.

Part of the Health For Your Lifetime series, this program is presented as a public service by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Advance registration for this free community seminar is encouraged. To register, call UI Health Access at 319-384-8442 or 800-777-8442.
