A leading researcher and cancer expert at The University of Iowa will provide a free, public educational seminar on Thursday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 1220 First Avenue, Coralville.
George Weiner, MD, director of Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at The University of Iowa and C.E. Block Chair of Cancer Research in the Roland and Ruby Holden Cancer Research Laboratory, will discuss cancer clinical trials. Topics will include the research process, separating fact from fiction, recent and ongoing advances, and how to locate a clinical trial that may help you.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Iowa Chapter and Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center are sponsoring the seminar. Weiner will focus on cancers of the bloodstream and bone marrow, especially leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
A complimentary light dinner will be served. Pre-registration for this free program is required.
