Risk factors for head and neck cancer include:

• Smoking
• Chewing tobacco
• Consuming alcohol
• Prior cancer of the region of the head and neck

Symptoms include:

• Sores in the mouth that don't go away
• Sores in throat or trouble swallowing
• Change in voice
• Growth or swelling in the neck

The free screening is part of the Yul Brynner Foundation Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week April 15 through 22. Appointments for this free service are required. Call 319-356-4351 for an appointment.
