The two-day event in March raised $125,000. This is the fourth year for the event, which benefits Children's Miracle Network. Michael Artman, MD, professor and head of the UI Department of Pediatrics and physician-in-chief at UI Children's Hospital, accepted the funds from Aiming for a Cure founders Steve and Jodie Ries. Their son, Ben, lost his battle with cancer in June 2005.

The Aiming for a Cure Foundation raises funds to benefit pediatric oncology patients and their families served by UI Children's Hospital. Their goal is to improve the quality of care and quality of lives of children and their families through the funding of research and patient care. Aiming for a Cure is a nonprofit organization.

Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Children's Miracle Network is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness programs to benefit children treated at 170 children's hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Children's Miracle Network's hallmark is that locally generated donations stay in the local area to benefit patients at the local children's hospital. Children's Miracle Network also includes 75 corporate sponsors, 200 television stations and more than 135 radio stations.
