Experts from University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics will discuss heart failure and its treatment options at a special community program from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 16, at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 1220 First Avenue, Coralville. Cardiologists John Chase, MD, and Frances Johnson, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon David Helman, MD, and registered dietitian Marti Bradbury will present, "Treating Heart Failure Today and Tomorrow." Heart failure affects nearly five million Americans. Join these UI Heart and Vascular Center experts for this second annual heart failure symposium as they discuss the following topics:
Light refreshments will be served. Participants also are invited to stay after the program for the opportunity to talk with physicians, nurses, and heart failure patients. Part of the "Health For Your Lifetime" series, this annual heart failure symposium was rescheduled after bad weather hampered attendance on the program's original date on February 24.
