Marta VanBeek, MD, a dermatologist at UI Hospitals and Clinics, recently received a prestigious international award when she was recognized by the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) during the 2007 World Congress of Dermatology in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
An assistant professor in the Department of Dermatology in the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, VanBeek received the North American Young Dermatologist International Achievement Award for "significant achievement in dermatology that stands as an example to all young dermatologists."
The ILDS bases the award on domestic and international service in the field of dermatology.
One dermatologist from each continent receives a Young Dermatologist International Achievement Award at the World Congress of Dermatology meetings, which are held every five years. |
