UI Dentist Listed Among 'Best in the U.S.'
Patricia Meredith, DDS, dentist in the UI Hospitals and Clinics Department of Hospital Dentistry, has been selected for inclusion in "The Best of the U.S." 2008 list of the best professionals in the nation.
Meredith is the division director in general dentistry and the medical director of the department.
UI Physician Named to National Neurosurgery Post
Timothy Ryken, MD, UI Hospitals and Clinics neurosurgeon and associate professor in the UI Department of Neurosurgery, has accepted the post of co-chairman of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Joint Guidelines Committee.
The two-year appointment begins immediately. AANS and CNS leaders say Ryken's "clinical training, experience with neurosurgery guidelines development and consistently high quality work with the joint guideline committee initiatives make him highly qualified to take on this vital role."
Ryken recently received his master of science in epidemiology through the National Institutes of Health-sponsored K30 program and is pursuing work towards a doctoral degree. |
