Specialists with University of Iowa Children's Hospital are now enrolling participants in a weight management program for overweight adolescents.

SHAPEDOWN: Just for Teens is a weight-management program specifically designed to help teenagers. Parents and their teens entering grades 7 through 12 are invited to participate.

SHAPEDOWN: Just for Teens will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, beginning April 1. The program consists of 10 twice-weekly sessions that feature nutrition education, exercise, and support for lifestyle change. A physician referral and a non-refundable enrollment fee of $180 are required prior to beginning the program. In addition, additional charges will be billed to patient’s insurance and families will be responsible for co-payments. Family responsibility to co-payments remains even if the teen receives a partial scholarship for the enrollment fee. To schedule a mandatory intake interview call 319-384-7900.
