During National Hospital Week, May 12 through 16, UI Hospitals and Clinics will showcase dozens of its inpatient nursing units, outpatient clinics, departments, programs, and services for patients and families. Changing displays and special events in the Pappajohn Entrance Lobby, Elevator I, Level 1) will be available each day from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The week's activities include:
- Monday: Salute to Nurses; Magnet quilt, Tapestry of Excellence, presentation
- Tuesday: Patient Experience and Service Leadership
- Wednesday: UI Women's Health Fair
- Thursday: Hospital Department Recognition
- Friday: Education and Support, Community Service, and Clinical Outreach
Tapestry of Excellence was developed as part of UI Hospitals and Clinics Magnet recertification process. The quilt will be unveiled Monday at 3 p.m. as part of Hospital Week activities. The Magnet Quilt, stitched by more than 600 faculty and staff members from across UI Hospitals and Clinics, will be mounted, encased for protection, and installed so it can last for many years.
On Wednesday UI Hospitals and Clinics will host a UI Women's Health Fare from 11:30 to 1 p.m. The services of interest to women represented at the fair include:

- Breast Health and Imaging
- CHAMPS
- In-vitro Fertilization
- Lactation Services
- UI Maternity Center
- Menopause Clinic
- Women's Wellness and Counseling
