STAR 102.5 KSTZ of Des Moines raised $198,066 during its 11th annual radiothon to benefit patients and families who receive care at University of Iowa Children's Hospital. The live broadcast was held May 21 and 22 with Big Ken and Colleen.
Jeff Delaux, STAR 102.5 vice president and general manager, credited the success of the event to recognition among the station's listeners of the importance of supporting University of Iowa Children's Hospital.
All contributions will remain in Iowa to benefit pediatric research and treatments at the Iowa City-based hospital. UI Children's Hospital provides specialized care to more than 140,000 children annually.
Mediacom to Air Children's Miracle Network Program
Mediacom Communications will broadcast its annual Children's Miracle Network celebration May 30 and 31, giving Iowans a special view of life-saving work and medical advances at the state's longest-serving children's hospital.
"A Celebration of Real Miracles" will air on Channel 22, beginning at noon Saturday, May 30, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31. To make a donation during the program, call -800-456-2772.
