Parents and guardians are invited to nominate their child as a Kid Captain for the Hawkeyes' 2010 football season. Nominations will be accepted through May 9.
The Kid Captain program, in its second year, is a partnership between University of Iowa Children's Hospital and the Iowa Hawkeyes to honor current or former pediatric patients and celebrate their inspirational stories.
Children selected as Kid Captains for home games will take the field with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Children selected as Kid Captains for away game will receive special recognition during the week of the game.
Due to sideline safety concerns, only children who will be age eight or older by December 2010 will be considered for home game Kid Captain. Children age seven and younger will still be considered for the honorary (away game) Kid Captain.
