The grand opening for University of Iowa Health Care—Muscatine will be held Saturday, June 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. at 3465 Mulberry Avenue.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and brief remarks will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by tours of the new facility, refreshments. Activities will include:
- Prize drawings from local businesses
- Tours of UI AirCare helicopter (weather permitting) and UI Children's Hospital ambulance
- Chances for children to win free bike helmets
- Appearances by Herky and Perky, the UI Children's Hospital mascot, as well as an appearance by Gunny the Clown
- Junior Mini Medical School on the human body.
UI Health Care—Muscatine offers the following services:
- Family medicine 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Dialysis 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Specialty services for heart and lung care.
UI Health Care will continue to provide specialty services for cancer patients at Trinity Muscatine.
