Mohammad Jamal, MD, FACS, clinical assistant professor of surgery at UI Hospitals and Clinics, will discuss surgical options to weight loss in a free, public presentation at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 26, at UI Health Care-Muscatine, 3465 Mulberry Ave. in Muscatine.

The program -- "Lose the Weight. Find Your Life." -- will explain the minimally invasive surgical procedures of gastric bypass and adjustable gastric banding, as well as the requirements for patients to be considered for weight-loss surgery.
