There's no place like a 'home away from home' for
delivering a baby.
That's the philosophy behind the newly opened UI
Maternity Center, located at University of Iowa Hospitals
and Clinics. "Our center offers moms- and dads-to-be all the
comforts of home with the safety and security of the highest
quality obstetrical care," said Jennifer Niebyl, M.D., head
of obstetrics and gynecology.
Highlights include:
- High level security
- Home-like room environments
- Labor support services
- Nurse midwives
- Obstetricians
- Family practitioners
- High-risk pregnancy specialists
- Advanced fetal monitoring system
- Dedicated ultrasound room
- Internet access
- A la carte room service
- Whirlpools
- Custom made beds
"The new UI Maternity Center offers the most advanced and
comprehensive obstetrical care available anywhere in a
