Grateful patients and friends have a new outlet to provide support and express appreciation for care received at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with the introduction of the Caring Fund Drive.
The drive is expected to become an annual effort to assist UI Hospitals and Clinics in providing the highest quality health care for Iowans and beyond.
“The Caring Fund will help us with supplemental funding to bring the extra touches within programs and services that support our patient-centered environment,” said UI Hospitals and Clinics Director and CEO Donna Katen-Bahensky. “We know in talking with past patients, faculty, and staff that people often ask about how they might be able to help or how they could recognize their caregivers. We think this will be a wonderful opportunity for such support.”
Although a first for UI Hospitals and Clinics, this fund development program, coordinated through The University of Iowa Foundation, is commonly found at other major teaching hospitals.
The Caring Fund Drive will include mailings to past and potential donors through this summer. Only adult patients who have received care in the past 15 to 18 months will receive the mailings. All communications comply with federal HIPAA regulations regarding privacy.
