John Buatti, MD, is the new Deputy Director of Clinical Cancer Care, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.

John Canady, MD, authored a book, 101 Tips to Getting the Residency You Want: A Guide for Medical Students.

Three UI faculty have been named to work groups for the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders: William Coryell, MD (mood disorders), Jane Paulsen, MD, (neurocognitive disorders); and Susan Schultz, MD, (psychotic disorders).

Sam Kuperman, MD, has been appointed Ida P. Haller Chair in Child Psychiatry.

Del Miller, MD, has been appointed to the Kathrine Griffin Professorship in Schizophrenia and Major Mental Illness.

Thomas Ray, MD, has been appointed to the Mary J. Godwin Professorship in Dermatology.

Neil Segal, MD, received a five-year, $1.18 million grant from the Paul B. Beeson Career Development Awards in Aging Research Program.

Sonia Sugg, MD, was named to the Holden Associate Professor of Breast Cancer Surgery.

Thomas Waldschmidt, PhD, was named to the Clement T. and Sylvia H. Hanson Family Chair in Immunology.

George Weiner, MD, will serve on a National Institutes of Health-appointed group looking at ways to expedite the cancer clinical trials process in the U.S.
