PACEMAKER: Centennial 1998 A vision for the futureIn 1994, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the University of Iowa College of Medicine created an innovative structure called the Clinical Enterprise. This unique partnership provides an organized mechanism for joint oversight of all clinical initiatives of the two institutions. As the partners forge their Clinical Enterprise goals and initiatives, they share a vision of continuing excellence, embodied in the following Vision Statement. "The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the College of Medicine, working as partners to provide quality health care, share a vision of continued excellence built around four key concepts: --Tradition --Innovation --Adaptation --Collaboration As a national leader, we will progress through the next century building on our traditional missions of patient care, education, and research; creating innovations in medical science and the delivery of health care; adapting our organization to succeed in a changing environment; and working collaboratively as partners with the people, the communities, and the organizations we serve." |
