Take this true/false test and see if you know what's good for your feet.

  2. Shop for your shoes in the morning.
  3. Walking is hard on your feet.
  4. Most people are born with foot problems.
  5. Your feet sweat up to a half pint of moisture a day.
  6. Poor fitting pantyhose can contribute to foot problems.

  1. True. Women do have more foot problems and the main cause is wearing high heels. High-heeled shoes aggravate, if not cause, problems in the toes where most of the pressure is exerted.
  2. False. Shop for your shoes in the afternoon when your feet are their largest. Your foot size can vary as much as five percent during a day.
  3. False. Walking is good for your feet, improving circulation and aiding weight control.
  4. False. Most foot problems are made, not born. Generally a lifetime of wear and a good dose of neglect lead to most foot problems.
  5. True. Your feet contain more than 250,000 sweat glands.
  6. True. Poorly fitting pantyhose can pull the toes backward when pantyhose ride up.
