International Adoption Clinic
The Center for Disabilities and Development, part of UI Children’s Hospital, has opened an International Adoption Health Program to help families with some of the unique issues—medical, social, educational, and psychological—that may affect internationally adopted children.
The Program uses a multidisciplinary approach and provides both pre- and post-adoption consultation and evaluation, as well as ongoing consultation and services. UI Women’s Health Center
The new UI Women’s Health Center, Pomerantz Family Pavilion, Level 3, serves as the hub for women’s health, offering access to a women-focused health care team unmatched in its depth of clinical expertise and dedication to quality patient care.
UI Women’s Health services include primary care from obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, and internal medicine physicians, specialty care from obstetric and gynecology experts, reproductive medicine, and endocrinology programs, as well as UI Maternity Center, UI Heart and Vascular Center, UI Breast Health, and Women’s Wellness and Counseling.
Lung Transplant
Kalpaj Parekh, MD, recently named Director of the Lung Transplant Program at UI Hospitals and Clinics, and colleague, pulmonologist Julia Klesney-Tait, MD, medical director of lung transplantation, have successfully performed three lung transplants at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
