There are organizations that help provide on-going emotional support for people with allergies and asthma. The following organizations can help you locate a support group in your local area.

The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology offers a variety of services including patient and consumer education information, pollen count reports and maps, and a physician referral directory. Call (800) 822-2762 or visit their website at www.aaaai.org.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America is a voluntary organization that offers educational programs and services and separate asthma and allergy support groups across the country for adults, parents, teens, and caregivers. The American Lung Association offers educational and support group information. Check your local telephone listings for a chapter near you, call 1-800-LUNG-USA (that's 800-586-4872), or visit their website at www.lungusa.org.

The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) is a worldwide network that includes families, dietitians, nurses, physicians, school staff, representatives from government agencies, and the food and pharmaceutical industries. FAAN provides communications for food allergy and anaphylaxis awareness and the issues surrounding this disease. Call (800) 929-4040 or visit their website at www.foodallergy.org.

The World Allergy Organization is an international organization of allergy and clinical immunology societies and organizations from around the world. It is dedicated to research and advance excellence in clinical care. Call 414 276 1791 or visit their website at www.worldallergy.org.
