Who Is At Risk for Colon Cancer

  • More common in people age 50 or older
  • People who have had colon polyps (small non cancerous growths)
  • Family history of colon cancer
  • More common in people who have inflammatory bowel disease
  • More common in those who eat a high fat, low fiber diet
  • Other risk factors are obesity, smoking, daily alcohol intake, and inactive way of life
