Whole Wheat Waffles

3 egg whites

2 cups whole wheat flour

1/4 cup canola oil

1-3/4 cup skim milk

1 Tablespoon sugar

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

6 Tablespoon wheat germ

  1. Heat nonstick waffle iron; spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Beat egg whites with beater until foamy, do not overbeat. Beat in remaining ingredients (except wheat germ) until just smooth.
  3. For each waffle, pour about 1/3 cup batter onto center of hot waffle iron and sprinkle with 2 Tablespoons of wheat germ. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops.
