  • Area Education Agency Brain Injury Resource Teams (AEA)

    These 15 teams are a resource for children with brain injury, parents and other family members, local school personnel, rehabilitation, and hospital staff. The brain injury teams help ensure students' social, emotional, education and medical needs are identified and met when they begin to return to school.   • Community Mental Health Centers (CMHC)

    These agencies provide community support services and individual counseling. Contact your local CMHC or call Iowa COMPASS, 1-800-779-2001 to locate a center in your area.

  • Department of Human Services (DHS)

    DHS provides information, case management, referral and access to funding for a wide range of community based services. This includes home health support for persons re-entering the community and residential settings for survivors of brain injury. DHS also processes applications to determine eligibility for Medicaid. Contact your local DHS office or call Iowa Compass at 1-800-779-2001 to help find your local office.
