In this last section, we have added machines and tubes one at a time. We have one more machine to add which will complete the picture. The new machine is the monitor. Remember, it's the one that looks like a TV. The monitor has many wires that go to the patient. These wires send messages to the monitor. The nurses and doctors use these messages to care for the patient.

The last picture will give you an idea of what the Intensive Care Unit looks like when you visit your family member. It seems as if there is a lot of machines.
