Liver

Do you like liver?

My liver is a big, brown, soft organ. It is located under my ribs on my right side. The liver does lots of things:

  • It makes proteins.
  • It stores energy.
  • It makes sugar (glucose) to use as fuel when I am not eating.
  • It removes waste products from my blood.
  • It makes bile, which carries waste products into my intestine and helps me digest food.

Whew! My liver sure is important! Now do you like liver?
