Orthotic devices may help to prevent or relieve these problems. If you have a foot, ankle, or knee problem that will not clear up, see your healthcare provider. Orthotics may help, but cannot correct all foot, ankle, and knee problems. They will not remedy improper sports technique or overuse injuries. You may be referred to a foot specialist who will make a molded insert to correct your foot problem. Be sure to wear them as directed. Think about how often you are on your feet.
