Deann Montchal, RN, MBA, was appointed Interim Associate Director, Clinical Services in 2008. Montchal will provide senior administrative leadership to the Organ Transplant Center, UI Neuroservices, and Emergency Medical Services. She will continue oversight of UI Heart and Vascular Center.

Montchal joined the University in September 2001 as assistant director, Ambulatory Care Services. She is a graduate of The University of Iowa and began her role in health care as a registered nurse at UI Hospitals and Clinics in organ transplant and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She spent extensive time working clinically and administratively for other cardiac programs including assisting Yuma Regional Medical Center in Arizona develope and open a diagnostic cardiac program including a new catheterization laboratory.
